Carol Younkin

Composer Playwright Lyricist

Carol is a graduate of Redford University with  B.S. degrees in Music and in Theatre.  She has acted with a variety of Theatre Companies including the L.A. Shakespeare Company in Phoenix, AZ  (Lady Macbeth/Ophelia).  In Houston, TX she performed with Theatre LaB(Sister Butterworth, Martha Mitchell), Actor's Studio (April Greene), Theatre Suburbia (Dr. Livingstone), among others.  She also worked in Film (Industrial and Feature), Commercials, and Voice Overs.

Her writing credits include several children's reviews and "Starry (K)nights"(venue for a children's talent show).

She is the Playwright and Lyricist for "Leftovers", a musical.  It had a staged reading in Houston, TX and a Workshop Production in Hollywood, FL.

Most recently she was is the playwright for "Journey to Hope", a musical in one act, which made it's premier at the Hobby Center for Performing Arts in Houston, TX in 2015.

"Journey to Hope" was made into a Documentary and is currently an Official Selection in 24 Film Festivals both Nationally and Internationally.  Carol has won two awards for Best Screenplay, one in the Minefield Festival, Albuquerque, NM (Platinum) and one in the Pinnacle Festival (Diamond).
