
Candace Adams
About the playwright: Candace Adams has lifelong theatre experience, as an actor, playwright as well as in music. She studied acting and playwriting with Ed Claudio, at the Actor’s Workshop, in Sacramento, CA. Her first play Healing Grace was produced in 2012 by Ovation Stage, in Sacramento, CA and received four stars by News and Review. Rowin’ Up Salt River had a formal reading with a live audience at the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre Summer Playwriting Workshop, 2022, Berkeley, CA. Adams’ ten minute plays were performed for the 2018 and 2019 Nugget Fringe Festival(written and same day production after a prompt: Taking Care of Harry and Ice Cream for you, 2018, The Swimmer, The Love of a Bear, and Portland 2019. The First Anniversary, a ten minute play, was performed at the 2018 Playwright Center San Francisco Playoffs.
Adams has taken playwriting classes with Paul Calandrino, at the Oregon Contemporary Theatre, Eugene Oregon, 2021 and 2022. She has studied playwriting with Gary Graves, in the Central Works Theatre Monday Playwriting Group, Berkeley, CA 2017 to 2022. Adams is in playwriting classes with Anthony Clarvoe, Berkeley, CA. 2022. Adams is a member of Play Cafe’, Berkeley, CA, Playwright Center of San Francisco and a Member of the Dramtistists Guild of America.
