BOB STEWART’S BIO: Attended and received a degree from University of North Carolina School of the Arts. His One-Man comedy: JESUS IN A BEEHIVE!-THE LAST TEMPTATION OF MITCHELL PANTENE! (PICK OF THE WEEK BY THE NEW YORK TIMES) was performed in NYC’s Duplex for a summer run and for Philly’s Gay & Lesbian Theater Festival. His A MEMORY PLAY was chosen for NYC’s T.R.U. Series, The Malibu Playhouse’s New Play Reading Series, NYC’s The WorkShop Theater Co.’s 2008/09 Main Stage and chosen “Best of the Festival” by The Mid-Town International Theater Festival. His AMERICAN INHERITANCE was a finalist for the Kennedy Center’s Fund For New American Plays & recently produced in NYC as an Industry Reading with Tom Wopat and Angelica Page. It has been optioned by Tony Award Winning Producer, Michael Rubenstein. His BETHESDA was seen at The WorkShop Theater 2011's Vet’s Play Festival. His CHICKEN & EGG SOUP has been performed in NJ, GA, KY, RI, and even as a Radio Play in Spokane WA and a podcast. A short-film of CHICKEN & EGG SOUP is in pre-production to be directed by Fredi Walker Browne. His FABULOUS DARSHAN was chosen as “One of The Top Plays of the Year” by Indie Theatre Now and was a selected as a Fundraiser (with the original NY cast) for The Schenectady Light Opera Company’s Rainbow Access Program in Schenectady, NY and recently in The Celebration Theatre’s Reading Series in Los Angeles with Co-Artistic Director-Michael A. Sheppard as the lead. His ALL YOU CAN EAT play he recently adapted into a screenplay and is in preproduction by filmmaker Miles Maker in LA. His comedy inspired by his late friend called CAROL OF CARROLL GARDENS was selected for The Glamour Theatre's 1st Writer's Retreat in Fla. It was also chosen for THE DEPOT NEW PLAY READING SERIES in Hampton CT. Also, because each one act play of his A MEMORY PLAY and ALL YOU CAN EAT have the same characters but 45 years apart, he is creating a full evening of theater by combining and adapting them into THE MARRIAGE VARIATIONS.
