My plays have been performed at Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre, Public Theatre, Circle Rep. & Repertorio Español in NYC; Nosotros Theatre & Ford Theatre in Los Angeles; & Teatro Esperanza in San Franciso. Awards: NYFA grant; Arizona Theatre National Hispanic Playwrights Award; Isadora Aguirre Playwriting Award (twice); finalist in MetLife Nuestras Voces Competition & South Coast Rep’s Hispanic Playwrights Project. My play, “The Watermelon Factory” was published in the anthology, "Positive-Negative; Woman of Color/HIV/AIDS."  Miss Chihuahua" was one of ten plays performed during Ford Theatre's Summer Festival of Latino plays.  "Yin/Yang," a 30-minute play, was produced as part of the 2015 Venus-Adonis Theater Festival in NYC.  I've attended one-month residencies at Yaddo, Millay, and the Albee Colony. In 2001, I was one of three writers invited by the Mexican Arts Commission, as part of its first exchange program with the USA, to spend the summer in Mexico City researching my first novel, "Peccadilloes."  (In 2011, a chapter from this novel, originally titled "Centenario," was published in the anthology, "From Macho to Mariposa.") Received my Bachelor's from The New School, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College.  An accomplished actor, I have several Off-Broadway film and television credits to my name.   I've taught playwriting in New York City during the last 25 years through various organizations, such as Manhattan Theater Club, Theater Development Fund, Theater For A New Audience, Young Playwrights Inc., and Repertorio Español.  Presently teaching College Writing courses and College Success classes at Union County College, previously at Herkimer College in Upstate New York.
