"Are you passionate about musical theatre and comedy? I’m looking for a collaborator to help organize your choice of up to 25 original songs co-written with Broadway music director Kurt Crowley. I need someone to take a fresh look at developing the book for this quirky musical about a West Texas cult awaiting the end of the world according to the Mayan calendar. We’ve had three staged readings already, but the script needs some refining/reimagining for the next phase--a two-week workshop in Portland, Ore. Ideally, you’re a dramaturg or experienced writer who can weave the music into the story and bring new ideas to the table. This is our four-year labor of love, so no, there’s no pay upfront. However, you can earn royalties if the script and music are merged according to DGA contract standards. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience and contribute to an eccentric, comedic musical. Interested? "A failing dance company is rescued by a rich but corrupt prince and his seductive wife. The director, the play's protagonist, agrees to sell but is pressured into hiring the prince's Latina daughter as a dancer. She has no professional training but is incredibly gifted and turns the ailing company around. Plenty of sex, romance and humor and room for great songs and dance numbers. I have had one-acts and a full length comedy produced plus "The Tutu Trilogy," a trio of one-act ballet comedies."

"Looking for an arranger/composer who can put a hip-hop/pop spin on existing songs for The History of Light, a musical about the way the introduction of electricity changed life in Gilded Age New York. The musical has had successful readings at New York's Howl Festival and at L.A.'s La Mirada Theater. All of the songs are updated from Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. The goal: Take the most popular melodies from the dawn of the Electric Age and update them with the most popular musical styles of our time. Our next step is to update the arrangements of a few existing songs -- so we can record new versions. As we move ahead, we may also need help with incidental music and music direction.
