NORTH CAROLINA: DG Gathering, Rehearsal, Panel Discussion, and Change of Date

On October 28, join Dramatists Guild members, along with North Carolina Regional Rep Jacqueline E. Lawton, for a fun and engaging afternoon of events at the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte. This will be a wonderful chance to meet other writers, discuss best practices for writing theatre for young audiences, and share useful strategies on how to balance a writing career with parenting. Schedule of events:
1pm to 1:30pm
Meet and Greet: Mix and mingle with the panelists and playwrights. We will also take time to discuss possible Dramatists Guild events that you’d like to see in our state. Light food and refreshments will be provided.
1:30pm – 3pm
Attend a panel discussion on TYA (Theatre for a Young Audience) and Playwriting and Parenting with Children’s Theatre of Charlotte’s Artistic Director, Adam Burke, as well as playwrights Janet Allard, Gloria Bond Clunie, and Kim Stinson, facilitated by Jacqueline E. Lawton.
3:30pm – 5pm
Observe a dress rehearsal for the world premiere of DG member Gloria Bond Clunie’s adaptation of The Last Stop on Market Street.

The Children’s Theatre of Charlotte recommends parking in the 7th Street Station lot, located across the Lynx Light Rail tracks next to ImaginOn. On Sundays, parking is free all day, with a validated parking ticket (validated at the Welcome Desk in ImaginOn).
