FREE WEBINAR: How to Submit So Your Plays Get Produced
On Sunday November 12, the Dramatists Guild will host a free webinar for members on How to Submit So Your Plays Get Produced, led by award-winning playwrights Donna Hoke (Dramatists Guild Council and Western New York Regional Representative), and Stephen Kaplan (New Jersey Regional Representative). This presentation is designed to offer both practical tools and inspiration to help playwrights market their work more effectively. Hoke and Kaplan are both prolific in sharing their work, and will offer effective strategies for getting your work out into the world and onto the stage. This seminar is modeled on a presentation created for New York playwrights by Hoke and the DG Central New York Regional Rep Aoise Stratford, it was presented by Hoke, Kaplan, and former Kentucky Regional Rep Nancy Gall-Clayton at the 2015 DG National Conference in La Jolla, and proved to be one of the most popular breakout sessions. Hoke and Kaplan have since presented it in various regions around the country.
You hear it all the time: the only difference between unproduced playwrights and produced playwrights is that produced playwrights get their work seen by the decision makers. That translates to submissions and networking, a daunting task that we’d like to make easier. This session covers resources for finding opportunities, tips for easier submission, success stories from cold calls, remote networking, and a Q&A.

The webinar will be recorded and made available at a later time via a members only link to Vimeo. We will keep a waitlist for registration; you’ll have up until 48 hours prior to the event to cancel by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you register, you will be sent a confirmation email with a password and a link to join the Webinar. Make sure you save this email somewhere you can easily find it, and take note of the password you will need to enter. On November 12 at 11:30am, when you are ready to join, simply click the link, and Zoom will automatically install on your computer, and ask you for the password to join. If you’ve never used Zoom before, we recommend you allow yourself approximately ten minutes for this process.
