BALTIMORE: DG Footlights
Dramatists Guild members, and their friends, are invited to attend a DG Footlights reading by Rich Espey.
In Rich Espey's Small Fortune, Rob Vantage has decided to make reparations to the descendants of the enslaved people who built his family's wealth two centuries ago. But his own descendants aren't happy about it, and his motivation might not be as pure as he wants us to believe. How far will people go when the family fortune is at stake?
DG Footlights is a program, created and moderated by the Dramatists Guild, that connects dramatists with free space in which to hold a public reading of a new work that is currently in development. This initiative operates on a space-grant model: a representative from the Guild will arrange for a venue to donate space during allocated dates and times, and will ensure that the space is available for dramatists to use to present a self-produced reading to the public, with an optional feedback session following the reading. Attendance is always free and open to all.
For this Footlights event, free parking is available in the lot opposite the church. Ample street parking is also available.
