Attorneys Backstage: Pulling Back the Curtain on AI & Copyright
Virtual
LOCATION
SUMMARY
The Business Affairs’ monthly series, Attorneys Backstage, is in its second year!
Each month, join Director of Business Affairs Jessica Lit, Esq. and Business Affairs Consultant Leesa Fenderson, Esq. as they “pull back the curtain” on various aspects of the business of writing for the theatre.
This month the attorneys will “pull back the curtain” on artificial intelligence and copyright. The rapid advancement in AI technology is top of mind for the Guild, our members, and for creators across all industries. In anticipation of the release of the Guild’s new AI resource, the attorneys want to use this month's Attorneys Backstage to zoom in on one aspect that is critical for our members to understand: the intersection of AI and copyright law.
In this session, we will discuss the copyrightability of AI-generated material, the issues being decided in the ongoing litigation against the major AI companies, and strategies for protecting yourself and your work in this ever-evolving landscape. We’ll also take a peek at the Guild’s brand-new online guide: Rights & Resources in the Age of AI, which launches the same day!
