 Jospeh P. Krawczyk is an award-winning playwright and documentary filmmaker. His latest play, Divinity, which took on the millennium-old conflict between religious belief and rational thought, was produced as a workshop production at New York's American Theatre of Actors. By invitation, the play has been accepted to participate at New York's Horse Trade Theater Group's Playwrighting Workshop. Release, directed by Vincent A. Apollo, explored a future world of genetic manipulation. His critically-acclaimed Who Killed Johnny Hansen? took on corporate greed, race relations, and right-wing talk radio. His other New York productions include Year's End, Family Bound, Inconceivable (also produced in Los Angeles), and Latin Retreat at Playwrights Horizons Theater School. His play Gender Wars was produced Off Broadway at the Samuel Beckett Theater. He has been awarded two Jean Dalrymple Awards (Best Playwright, Family Bound; Best Comedy, Inconceivable). As a documentary filmmaker, he has worked with talents such as William Shatner, Eli Wallach, and James Whitmore. He has won awards from the New York Film Festival, Houston International Film Festival, and a Tri-State Award for the Best United Way video. He is especially proud of The Gift of Time, a documentary on volunteerism, which was shown at the White House in 1990. |
