11. What is a Business Affairs Externship?
The DG’s Department of Business Affairs provides opportunities for law school students to learn about intellectual property and transactional law as these practice areas relate to entertainment and the arts. We provide one part-time externship per law school semester and one full-time “associate” position in the summer. Applicants are required to have completed at least one course dedicated to intellectual property. While most students apply through their respective institution’s career centers or internship offices, you may send a resume and cover letter to David Faux. Placement in the Department of Business Affairs is highly competitive, so we advise that you submit these materials as far in advance as possible.
