Playwright and Screenwriter
Michael Weller is a playwright best known for his award-winning play Moonchildren, as well as his screen adaptations of the musical Hair and Ragtime, based on the novel of the same name by E.L. Doctorow. He has been recognized for his work at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City as a co-founder of Cherry Lane’s Mentor Project. In addition to his writing, Mr. Weller is currently a faculty member at The New School for Drama in New York City.
