SEMINARS
The Dramatists Guild hosts seminars covering topics on all aspects in the business of writing for the stage. The Guild prides itself in providing panels consisting of some of the most renowned playwrights and musical theatre writers, as well as expert representatives from leading institutional theaters, publishers, literary agencies, and attorneys.
Recent seminars have featured:
-
Edward Albee, Stephen Sondheim, and Marsha Norman discussing the nature of their craft.
-
Representatives from Manhattan Theatre Club, New York Theatre Workshop, and Second Stage shedding some light on the proper way of submitting manuscripts to literary managers.
-
Representatives from Samuel French, Broadway Play Publishing, and Dramatists Play Service sharing information on how to get your play or musical published.
While most seminars are open to the public, members of the Guild are invited to exclusive networking seminars: The Dramatist/Director Exchange, The Dramatist/Musical Theater Director Exchange and The Musical Theatre Forum. In these widely successful events, held throughout the year, we link our members with potential collaborators in a social setting where they can share ideas and form relationships. Many of the relationships formed at these events have developed into strong creative teams. As always, these seminars and networking sessions are free of charge to all Dramatists Guild members.
